Aims for Rjukan Vertikal
The pupils are encouraged to appreciate the natural environment. They will receive an understanding of and an insight into a way of moving in the countryside with respect for and understanding of their own possibilities and limitations.
Tours are chosen according to ability.
On the basis of this, the ability to move vertically will also increase.
Rjukan Vertikal’s planning will involve the following elements:
- Knowledge of life in the outdoors.
- Description and normative premises for the understanding, which lies behind our definition of outdoor life.
- Derivative norms for practical outdoor life.
- Knowledge of nature.
- Knowledge of and experience with the countryside/watershed
in which the actual sports activity is being practiced. - Mastering of basic abilities (different kinds of climbing) and other
supporting proficiencies (orientation, first aid etc) in connection with
the use of equipment which is necessary in outdoor activities.. - Development of extra physical and mental energy resources for
the actual form of outdoor activity being involved in.
(improvement of ability through training – preferably in the actual environment).
